Some of the developments in East Freehold are Whittier Oaks, Colonial Acres, Timber Ridge, Colt's Pride, Chatham Ridge, Colts Brook, and the luxury homes in Champions Run, Seven Oaks,  Freehold Pointe, Robertsville Estates, Crowne Pointe, Four Maples Estates and Saxon Estates. There is one condo complex, Poets Corner, and two other condo complexes, Independence Square and Briarwood, that, while not officially in the East Freehold CDP, are right on the border line.

The 2000 Census says there were 31,537 people, 10,814 households and 8,283 families living in the township, and 4,936 people of those people lived in East Freehold. The estimated population of the township in 2006 was 33,953.  There were 1,643  households and 1,396 families living in East Freehold.  Of the 1,643 households, 46.6% had children under 18 in the household, and 12.4% of the households were individuals. The average household size was 3.00 and the average family size 3.30. The population was 29.9% under the age of 18, 5.3% between 18 and 24, 32.1% between 25 and 44, 25.6% between 45 and 64, and 7.2% 65 and older.. The median age was 37 years.

Per capita income was $93,548, and the median income for a family was $102,756.

Elementary school age children will attend either JJ Catena Elementary School or CR Applegate Elementary School. Middle school age children (grade 6-8) will attend either Eisenhower School or Barkalow Middle School. High school children will attend the Freehold Regional High School District, which consists of 6 high schools - Manalapan, Marlboro, Freehold Township, Freehold, Howell and Colts Neck. Children usually attend the closest high school -  most of East Freehold will attend Freehold High School.

Each of the six high schools has a specialized Learning Centers for students who are highly motivated and talented. All students from the region are eligible for enrollment, admission is competitive. The curriculums at the Specialized Learning Centers are:

       Marlboro - business administration

       Howell  - humanities, fine and performing arts academy

       Freehold Township - global issues, animal and botanical sciences academy

       Freehold - medical sciences, culinary arts/hospitality management academy and a computer science academy

      Manalapan - science and engineering, automotive technology and law enforcement and public safety academies

      Colts Neck - law and public service, a Navy JROTC character and leadership development academy

At all of the high schools, SAT scores consistently exceed state and national averages, and more than 87 percent of the district's students pursue higher education.

There are also 3 county high schools, MAST, which specializes in marine studies, the High Technology High School and the new Biotechnology High School. These schools are for any residents of Monmouth County who excel and qualify..
