Good Neighbor Next Door Program

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development wants to make American Communities stronger. HUD has a few special programs available for police, firefighters, teachers and EMTs. To qualify you must be a full-time employee. There are also other qualifications.

HUD wants to encourage these professionals to buy homes in low and moderate income neighborhoods. Certain HUD owned single family homes in designated Revitalization Areas are available at a 50% discount to these professionals. You must agree to own and occupy these homes for at least 3 years.

These homes can e bought with a minimum of $100.00 down payment. Financing for both the purchase and repair of a HUD owned property is also available with a FHA 203(k) mortgage loan.
