Select a Good REALTOR®
and
Team
When
you’re looking to buy a home, you want an experienced
REALTOR®
that can help you through the lengthy (and somewhat
confusing) process. It’s important to work with a
REALTOR®,
or even better, a REALTOR®
Team. A good team will have more than one agent, and
will have good working relationships with the other
professionals who all need to work together to achieve a
successful real estate transaction. The other members of
the team are mortgage representatives, real estate
attorneys and home inspectors.
Many
times, when you mention to friends, co-workers or family
that you’re looking to buy (or sell) a house, they
recommend a friend, neighbor or relative who is a
REALTOR®.
But simply being a REALTOR®
sometimes is not enough.
In
2007, in the Monmouth/Ocean Multiple Listing Service,
there were 12,100 licensed REALTORS®
Of the
12,100 licensed REALTORS®,
6,419 had no transactions.
Of the
5,681 licensed REALTORS®,
1,524 had only 1 transaction.
This
means that of the 12,100 licensed REALTORS®,
almost 2 out of 3 had 1 transaction or less.
Bottom line
– do you think a REALTOR®
who dabbles at real estate part-time can do as good a
job for you as a full time professional?
Don’t
blindly hire a REALTOR®
because they know someone who knows you – look for an
agent that knows the area, has the information and works
with a team of professionals who can help you make your
purchase a successful real estate transaction. |
